As close to nature as it gets
Four years ago we decided to make a change in our lives and after a meeting with the park owners, Jackie & David, we bought out first ever holiday lodge.
Many people say their dream is to have a cabin in the woods and this lodge park is as close to nature as it gets. Views from the windows give us red squirrels, pine martens & too many birds to list. Stepping out of the door and you are walking in the forest within minutes, some days you can walk for hours & not see a single person, other days you can attend or watch the many events that Kielder hosts over the year.
Trek, mountain bike or just relax on the decking with a book, our lodge in Kielder is the place we love to be the most.

We bought our lodge at Clear Sky Lodge Park eight years ago, shortly after losing my father. At a time when we were looking for somewhere special to create new memories and spend quality time together, we found this little piece of heaven in Kielder. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was different. We spent six months lovingly renovating our lodge and making it our own, and it has become far more than a holiday home – it truly feels like our home away from home.
The main reason we chose Clear Sky Lodge Park was the peace. Living in a busy city with demanding jobs means life is often fast-paced, noisy and full of distractions. What we craved was somewhere we could switch off completely, and this place delivers that in abundance. The silence here is something you have to experience to appreciate. Sitting on the decking with a morning coffee, hearing nothing but birdsong, or listening to the haunting call of an owl as the sun sets, brings an incredible sense of calm. We often say that arriving here feels like stepping into a world outside of normal time
Buying our lodge here is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made, and eight years later, we still fall in love with it every single time we arrive.

The wildlife is simply extraordinary.
It’s become a regular occurrence for one of us to excitedly shout, “Quick, get the binoculars!” as red squirrels run through the trees or another bird appears nearby. Over the years, we’ve seen so much wildlife. Nature isn’t something you have to go looking for here – it’s all around you.
The location is perfect
Our dogs absolutely love it here and lie out on the decking for hours, or we leave the gate open so they can wander the grass. Jackie is absolutely lovely and always welcomes us.

For days out, you’re near places such as Gretna Green, Jedburgh with its history, and the beautiful Hexham. Shopping can also be delivered, there’s a friendly local shop for essentials and gifts, and a lovely waterside restaurant nearby and water activities!
